Community Conversation November 12

You are invited to a free event to engage in candid conversation on a tough topic:

Do I Play a Role in Modern-Day Slavery?

Taking the Innocence Out of Innocent Bystander

  • Approx. 27 million men, women and children are enslaved world-wide today.
  • In the U.S. alone, between 18,000 and 20,000 people are newly enslaved each year, trafficked into this country from overseas.
  • Forced prostitution accounts for about half the trafficking victims in the U.S.
  • The average age of girls entering into pornography/prostitution in the U.S. is 12.

  • What do I think about pornography and prostitution?
  • What do I know about modern-day slavery in Central Missouri?
  • Am I simply an innocent bystander to an international, federal and state crime?
  • Do my personal attitudes and actions influence the existence of slavery?
