Working with Victims of Violence in Immigrant Communities

On September 24th, 2009, Barbara Bogomolov, RN, BSN, MS, presented a 2 hour training session on working with victims of violence among new-arrival communities. Ms. Bogomolov manages the Refugee Health and Interpreter Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Her presentation was part of Columbia’s second annual Human Trafficking Awareness Week. Over 50 individuals from various agencies attended the training at Parkade Center. The event was sponsored by Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition, Centro Latino, MorningStar Counseling Center, and Parkade Center. Funding for the event was through a cooperative agreement with Department of Health and Human Services, through the Rescue and Restore program.
